If there's one thing I'm beginning to learn, is that a day job and an online course puts a serious crimp in one's writing exploits. I attempted to participate in the July session of Camp NaNoWriMo, but because of the aforementioned online class, I was only able to muster between 1,000 and 2,000 words for the month. While the writing attempt fell well short of my intended 15,000 words for the month, I am on-track for an A in the class.
In the midst of all of that, I attended the inaugural Committed in Louisville event in Kentucky. The event was a success, and the organizers arranged, for those who desired, a ghost tour of the Waverly Hills Sanatorium. I went on the tour on the Friday night, and while I did not see any spirits, myself, it was an awesome tour, and a great weekend away.
With my second event of 2021 over, I now turn my focus to the inaugural Books at the Beach event, taking place this October in Clearwater Beach, Florida. The event is shaping up to be a massive one, with over 70 authors appearing. But not content with finishing off 2021 strong, I'm looking ahead to 2022. Due to COVID postponements, I'm currently on tap to appear at five events next year. The forecasted 2022 schedule is as follows:
March 6 - All the Books in Houston, TX
May 14 - Romancing the Falls in Niagara Falls, ON, Canada
June 4 - Tampa Indie Author Book Convention in Tampa, FL
August 13 - Ignite Your Soul Author Event in London, ON, Canada
September 8-11 - Bouchercon 2022 in Minneapolis, MN
However, not content with a full 2022 slate, I'm also looking at filling my 2023 schedule. And I've already been confirmed for the inaugural Getting Witchy With It, taking place on September 16, 2023 in the legendary hamlet of Salem, MA. It's shaping up to be one heck of an awesome event, and full of mystical allure. It's just a shame I have to wait two years for it. I'm crossing my fingers I'll get invites for at least another signing or two in 2023 which I have my eye on. What those will be are to be determined, but as always, stay tuned.
That's all from me for now. Until next time, happy reading!
